Office of the Budget Director

The Office of the Budget Director is responsible for advising Councilmembers on matters related to the District’s budget, including review, markup, enactment, and oversight of the annual operating budget and capital plan. The Office also analyzes the fiscal impacts of legislation and reviews reprogramming and contract approval requests. Budget staff serve as a resource for all Council committees and members.

In accordance with DC Code § 1-204.42 and Council Resolution 19-748, the Mayor’s proposed Fiscal Year 2014 budget will be available to the public no later than March 28, 2013. Committee hearings on the Fiscal Year 2014 Budget Request Act have been scheduled for April and May 2013. For hearing times and locations and committee contact information, please refer to the Notice of Public Hearings and Committee Mark-up Schedule and the calendar section of the Council’s website. Links to Fiscal Year 2014 budget formulation documents, to include the Mayor’s budget request, agency responses to committee questions, committee reports, and Council legislation, will be posted to the FY 2014 budget section of the Council website as the dcouments become available.
