To provide immunity from legal repercussions to those persons who seek health care for someone experiencing or perceived to be experiencing an overdose; to establish as a mitigating factor in criminal prosecutions the seeking of health care for an overdose victim; to prohibit the use of evidence gained as a result of seeking health care for an overdose victim in residential drug-related eviction proceedings; to authorize the possession and administration of opioid antagonists; to authorize prescription of opioid antagonists by licensed healthcare professionals; to provide data on overdose and overdose-related health care services; and to raise awareness and encourage the prevention of overdose deaths.
