RSSWalter Reed Army Medical Center Base Realignment; Public Alley Closure
On June 14, 2012, Councilmember Mary M. Cheh, Acting Chair of the Committee of the Whole, will hold a public hearing on B19-640: Closing of Public Alleys in Square 901, SO 11-5228 Act of 2012; B19-729: Walter Reed Army Medical Center Base Realignment and Closure Homeless Assistance Submission Approval Act of 2012. The public hearing will begin at 5PM in ROom 500 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
The Committee invites the public to testify or to submit written testimony, which will be made part of the official record. Anyone wishing to testify should register online or contact Ms. Aukima Benjamin at 202-724-8062 or abenjamin@dccouncil.us. Representatives of orgnaizations will be allowed a maximum of five minutes for oral presentation and individuals wil be allowed a maximum of three minutes for oral presentation. Witnesses should bring five copies of their written testimony and submit a copy of their testimony electornically to abenjamin@dccouncil.us.
If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. Copies of written statements should be submitted to either the Committee of the Whole or to Nyasha Smith, Secretary to the Council, Room 5, John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004. The record will close at the end of the business day on June 29, 2012.
The Committee is providing abbreviated notice of this hearing so that the Committee can consider this legislation prior to the Council's summer recess, despite personnel changes.
