Ongoing Education Efforts of the Academic Detailing Program in DC

Councilmember David A. Catania, Chair of the Committee on Health, announces a Public Oversight Hearing on the ongoing education efforts of the Academic Detailing program in the District of Columbia. The oversight hearing will be Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 10:00am in room 500 of the John Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. 

The Academic Detailing program provides evidence-based, unbiased education to physicians in the District of Columbia on the various treatments and pharmaceuticals available to treat certain diseases and conditions.  As part of their ongoing efforts, the Academic Detailing program is preparing to unveil an HIV education module.  The purpose of this hearing is to hear an update on the ongoing efforts of the Academic Detailing program and in particular their work on creation of an HIV education module. 

This hearing will be open to the public; however, only invited witnesses will be permitted to provide oral statements.  Members of the public may submit written testimony which will be made part of the official record.  Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Health no later than 5:30pm on Thursday, December 8, 2011.
