Office of the Jobs Czar Establishment Act of 2012
Councilmember Vincent B. Orange, Sr. announces the scheduling of a public hearing by the Committee on Small and Local Business Development on B19-480: Office of the Jobs Czar Establishment Act of 2012. The public hearing is scheduled for Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10AM in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
The purpose of the public hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to comment on B19-480: Office of the Jobs Czar Establishment Act of 2012, which proposes to establish an Office of the Jobs Czar within the District of Columbia for the purposes of organizing and centralizing the implementation of a comprehensive workforce development strategy, coordinating job training programs, and for other purposes.
Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify at the public hearing are asked to register online or telephone Ms. Elizabeth Webster or Mr. Stacey Lincoln of the Committee on Small and Local Business Development at (202) 727-6683 or by email at ewebster@dccouncil.us or slincoln@dccouncil.us and provide their name(s), address, telephone number, email address and organizational affiliation, if any, by close of business Friday, July 6, 2012. Each witness is requested to bring 20 copies of his/her written testimony. Representatives of organizations and government agencies will be limited to 5 minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard. Individual witnesses will be limited to 3 minutes.
If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. The official record will remain open until close of business Friday, July 27, 2012.
