Maryland Ave SW Small Area Action Plan; Comp Plan Future Land Use Map and Generalized Policy Map
Councilmember Tommy Wells, Chairperson of the Committee on Libraries, Parks, Recreation, and Planning, will reconvene a public hearing on PR19-659, the "Maryland Avenue SW Small Area Action Plan Approval Resolution of 2012," and PR19-611, the "Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map and Generalized Policy Map Approval Resolution of 2012" on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 3:00PM in Room 123 of the John A. Wilsong Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. This is a continuation of the June 6, 2012 hearing.
PR19-659 would approve a small area plan for a portion of Southwest DC within Ward 6, including blocks on both sides of Maryland Ave SW between 4th Street SW and 12th Street SW. PR19-611 would affirm that District of Columbia Future Land Use and Generalized Policy Maps conform to the requirements of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment Act of 2012. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive testimony from the public and from the Office of Planning on these two proposed resolutions.
The Committee invites the public to testify. Testimony may be limited to 3 minutes for individuals and 5 minutes for those representing organizations or groups. Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify should register online or contact Tawanna Shuford at 727-8232 or tshuford@dccouncil.us, and furnish their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation, if any, by 5 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012. Witnesses should bring 15 copies of their testimony and, if possible, to email an electronic copy to Ms. Shuford.
