Council Chairman Kwame R. Brown announces the scheduling of a Public Hearing by the Committee of the Whole on B19-0695, the “Hilda H.M Mason Way Designation Act of 2012”; B19-0644, the “Aunt Betty Way Designation Act of 2012”; B19-0651, the “Where Lincoln’s Legacy Lives Designation Act of 2012”; and B19-0601, the “Adolf Cluss Court Alley Designation Act of 2011.” The public hearing for these measures is scheduled for Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in Room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss and provide the public with an opportunity to comment on the proposed symbolic street renaming and the renaming of public spaces.
This notice is abbreviated to ensure timely notice to the public.
Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify at the public hearing are asked to register online or telephone Priscilla McIver, Administrative Assistant to the Committee of the Whole, at (202) 724-8196, or via e-mail at pford@dccouncil.us and furnish their names, addresses, telephone numbers, and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business Wednesday, March 21, 2012. They should also bring 20 copies of their written testimony or submit one copy of their written testimony by Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Persons presenting testimony may be limited to 3 minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard.
If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee of the
Whole, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 506 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.
