The stated purpose of Bill 19-616 is to amend the Fire and Police Medical Leave and Limited Duty Amendment Act to create a presumption that Fire and Emergency Medical Services' personnel who are diagnosed with diseases enumerated in the act have an occupational disease that was suffered in the line of duty and are thus entitled, upom meeting qualifications, to work in a limited-duty status or to non-chargeable medical leave and administrative pay.
