Government Operations: District Contracting and Procurement
The Office of Contracting and Procurement serves as the central procurement and contracting entity in the District and as such is responsible for providing leadership in the implementation of procurement rules and practices. Efficient procurement requires the participation and coordination of several government agencies. The roundtable will review OCP’s management of District contracts and procurements; suitability of current law; compliance with current law, and, best practices in contracting and procurement that may be applied to the District to provide more efficient and cost-effective government service. Specifically, the Committee on Government Operations will focus on: the current de-centralized framework; examine the efficiency of policy preferences; implementation of the Procurement Practices Reform Act of 2010; procurement transparency; best-practices, solicitation of construction contracts, professional training, technology, and other relevant topics.
