The Committee on Housing and Workforce Development is responsible for matters related to development, maintenance, preservation, and regulation of the housing stock, including rental housing; and neighborhood development, improvement, stabilization, and urban affairs; workforce development issues; employment and manpower development; and ex-offender affairs.

Committee Goals
- Identify new stable sources of funding for the production and preservation of affordable housing
- Coordinate greater cooperation between the District’s sister housing agencies
- Promote increased levels of home ownership, especially in underserved areas of the city
- Develop a plan to eliminate the waiting list at the DC Housing Authority for HCVP vouchers and public housing within the next 3-5 years
- Develop a plan to significantly decrease poverty among District residents
